Fun Fall

The weather is beautiful, the leaves are beginning to change, and as I am blogging the Fighting Irish are going into the 4th Quarter against Air Force up by over 30 points... life is good.

So much has happened since I last updated.  In the biggest news- Addison has started Preschool!  She is in "Little Group" (Pre-K 3) at a Catholic school just south of my school.  She LOVES school!  She gets to play with puzzles or playdough in the morning, then comes free play time.  This class particularly loves to dress up- and Addison is a huge fan of that!  Then they have a snack and storytime.  They rotate days visiting the Library, P.E. or Music class.  They do a project every day.  On Monday's it is a letter stick.  Where they color a shape that begins with the letter of the week.  On Wednesday they create a page with that same letter.  By the end of the year they will put all those pages in a book.  It didn't take aany time at all for Addison to adjust to a full day of school.  When I drop her off in the morning, I walk her to the Gym door and even the Principal has commented how independent she is that she likes to leave me there and walk across the gym to her classes line.  She is usually the first in her class on the line, but that doesn't bother her.  I've met a few of the upper school kids when I actually enter the Gym with her- and they know Addison by name (no one is shocked!)

Labor Day Weekend we traveled to South Bend for the first ND game of the season.  It was emotional, but always good to be around family and a good story to tell that we were present for the first time the ND stadium was evacuated.  Addison stayed through the first rain delay, we left to have dinner, and then Addison went home with Maw Maw and we returned and stayed through the end of the game.  I'm glad to say we are currently playing much better as I blog then we did that day.

The fall has been busy.  Both Mommy and Daddy have traveled with work, our Saturdays are filled with college football, and Mommy is training for a Half Marathon in February.  Addison has attended birthday parties, and has enjoyed playing at parks, with friends, and is a regular at the local libraries.  She loves listening to books on CD in the car, and also making up puppet shows at the library.

This morning Addison attended her first Soccer Clinic with the CYO at school.  Then we headed to the local Fire Station.  She got to be a Junior Firefighter for the day, tour the bay, climb into a big firetruck, take a ride on a fire truck from the 1950s. She (and Daddy) loved the visit.  She learned a little fire safety and is well versed in her Stop, Drop and Roll (though if you ask her to do it, she will roll forward like she is doing a summersault instead of side to side- haha... baby steps.)

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to.  We hope this update finds you well, and you are having a fun fall too!

First Day of School!
